Getting Festive for the Holidays with Embroidered Skirts

I’ve had my eye on a few embroidered skirts since back in the early fall.  I was seeing them paired with OTK boots and light weight sweaters. I tried to find one and it seemed like the minute I did, it was sold out in my size. Which of course makes me want one even more — you know….FOMO. Feeling like you’re missing out on the latest new thing! ha ha.

The beautiful thing about skirts is that you can so easily transition them from fall to winter and back into spring (depending of course on the material and pattern). And this embroidered beauty is the perfect staple for your wardrobe for THAT very reason! Here is how I would wear this gorgeous skirt from holiday party, to church, to date night.

skirt // jacket // camisole // pumps

Holiday Party – for this collaboration I chose to style this skirt for a holiday party. Which for me means no tights! Whether its a family celebration or a work event, it tends to get a little toasty — especially after a few holiday “spirits”. So I personally would go bare legs. I also wanted to have a layer that I could remove for the exact same reason. So y’all know this black lace trim camisole is my absolute GO TO piece! I literally wear it ALL. THE. TIME. If you don’t have a lace trim cami – you’re totally missing out 😉 (just ask my husband – wink wink) 😉 So I chose this GORGEOUS green velvet jacket for its festive look, but also so I could take it off if it got too warm. The lace cami is detailed enough in the back that it could be worn alone.

Church – ok – so a lace trim camisole might not be your “go to” for church. I 100% get it! I probably wouldn’t feel comfortable with that either. And some people might not even feel comfortable with such a short skirt and bare legs. Also understandable. So if I was wearing this to church I would pair it with tights, booties, and a cozy sweater. Here are a few options…

Date Night – now for a date night I would probably do a combo of the above two styles. I personally would go bare legs because I hate even the slightest mention of tights. BLAH! Reminds me of my childhood — and church. And it makes me cringe and itch. Ok – moving on. So I would go without tights but would wear booties instead of pumps. And then a cozy sweater with fun detail on the arms. Probably ruffles just to add a little something extra.

If you don’t have an embroidered skirt in your closet – this baby is a must!
