Mommy and Me Valentine’s Day Style

Around our house we don’t place too much emphasis on Valentine’s Day. Ok…we don’t place any emphasis on Valentine’s Day. I honestly couldn’t tell you the last time that Tom and I got each other gifts or even cards. And I love it! No pressure. No stress. No last minute scrambling to find SOMETHING that he might half-way pretend to like. Something that causes months of nagging when he never puts it to use and my feelings get hurt.

And because Parker’s grandparents, like clockwork, send her goody bags for the big day of luuuuv, we haven’t yet started to buy her gifts either. Ok Ok! So we sound super lame right! Well maybe we are! But I do have one guilty pleasure…coordinating outfits with my mini. I don’t tend to be one for themed clothing or even “mommy and me” outfits. But for some reason Valentine’s Day just strikes me as THAT day when you get a free pass. Maybe because it’s a day about love and lets be honest…I just love the snot out of my little nugget!!

So this year, the obnoxious coordination started with my dress. It was a LuLaRoe find that I passed on and instantly felt buyers remorse. Or wait..the opposite of remorse. Whatever it was…it was a nagging voice telling me I needed this dress in my life. Well we all know that the genius sales pitch behind LLR is that you “can’t ever find the same pattern in your size and style again”. Ha ha. WRONG!!! If you continuously stalk Instagram for 2 hours and join 46 LLR Facebook groups….you will inevitably find your dress! {And a sleeveless waffle cardigan to go with it}

And of course ETSY came through for Parker’s adorable dress that matches perfectly 🙂

So in true blogger fashion (insert sarcasm here) the coordinating outfits prompted our first photo shoot. Which, also in true blogger fashion, needed to be taken in front of the garage door (you know you know what I’m talking about ;). Clearly I’m no professional. I literally loathe the thought of having my photo taken. But here’s the real-ness that is a “blogger” taking pictures with their kids! Happy day of love…not just on Feb 14th, but everyday!
